4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of Kılıç Bream Fillets or Kılıç Bass Fillets
  • 250 gr of grape leaves
  • 1 glass of rice
  • 1 onion
  • 1 glass of olive oil
  • 1 dessert spoon of sugar
  • Salt, black pepper
  • Lemon slices
  • 2 glasses of water

How to make

Wash grape leaves and drain the pickling water. Immerse leaves in boiling water for 5 minutes, then strain. Wash the rice and let it rest in warm water for 15 minutes, then strain the rice. Remove the fish skin and bones off the fillets and cut them into finger thick pieces. Dice the onion, add salt and sugar and brown in olive oil. Place the rice into a bowl, add fried onion, fish meat, salt and black pepper and mix. Wrap this mixture in individual grape leaves and arrange these wraps in a pot. Place thin lemon slices between the wraps and cover them with a plate. Add 2 glasses of water and cook on low fire for 20 minutes. When the dish cools down, drip extra virgin olive oil and serve.
