In 1993, I founded our first fish farm as a small enterprise in Bodrum, producing just 30 tons of sea bream. Coming from a family of fish traders in Bodrum, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the sea and a strong understanding of the fishery business.

However, I realized that overfishing and pollution were depleting natural fish stocks. To preserve our family legacy and address the growing need for sustainable practices, I turned to aquaculture. Looking back, I know it was the right decision.
What began as a modest venture has since evolved into KILIÇ Seafood — the only company in the sector that manages the entire value chain: from feed production and fish farming to packaging and distribution. Over the past 32 years, with the support of talented professionals who joined our team, our production capacity has reached 105,000 tons. Today, KILIÇ is not only a leader in Türkiye but is also recognized across Europe as one of the industry’s most influential companies.
At KILIÇ, we’ve helped transform aquaculture from a luxury into an accessible, nutritious food source for all income levels. As someone who’s dedicated his life to this mission, I make it a point to educate families on the value of including fish in their diets. Yet, Türkiye’s per capita fish consumption remains only one-third that of developed nations — so our work is far from done.
